Vern Gillette, A 1951 Bonita graduate, is the gentleman on the far right. This same year they won CIF for both Basketball and Baseball in which he was captain of both teams.
The Bonita coach is on the right next to him,
Vern is shaking hands with John Wooden (who he referred to as Johnny).
The USC coach on the far left.
Do any of you know the coaches name…he played in the major league for the Yankees and a couple other teams.
Vern has a signed baseball by many many Yankees including Mickey Mantle
